This is a story of three families, their interactions,
and the effects they have on their community.
Malcom Ross Sr. died from Afghanistan combat injuries years after his discharge from service. His organs are harvested without the permission of the family. The Ross Clan is a close-knit extended family, guided by wife Mary and Malcom Jr. After being stonewalled by Saint Profit Hospital (SPH), denying any wrongdoing, the Ross family, in pursuit of justice, develop community programs to combat the prevailing Pharma agenda of creating customers over patients. The journey is not without risk to life and limb.
Dr. Bob Dou-Good, administrative head of SPH, has difficulty making the appropriate decisions at the office and has serious challenges at home with wife Shannon and daughter Michelle. An ill-advised dalliance with a college classmate at Johns Hopkins has surfaced twenty years later. Dr. Bob’s primary task is to generate funds for SPH. A ‘poker game’ is convened periodically to make such nefarious plans. In some instances, members of the ‘fraternity’ forfeit their lives for the cause.
Emily Rwench is a successful, highly respected nurse at SPH. Her journey started with an ill-fated interaction with a med student. Her family supports her climb back to the top and it is well worth the journey as she reaches for the stars and touches them. Her adventure is not without peril and her life is at risk as she helps government agent Jon Tatum unravel the mystery that is SPH.
